Odysseus Nobody

Almost 3,000 years ago, Homer wrote the Illias, the story of the cunning Greek captain Odysseus, who had a giant wooden horse built and thus won the Trojan War after ten years of fighting.

Homer then wrote the epic story Odyssey, about the return journey of the Greek hero that would last ten years. This epic includes 24 hymns of which vocals 9 ("Nobody") is probably one of the best known.

The vocals with the Cycloop are mythical, heroic and entertaining.

Odysseus tells how in his fight with the hideous giant he reduces himself to "nobody" and can escape in this way. Stefan Perceval takes on the role of Odysseus and tells the story like a Saturday evening film. While at the same time he hesitates because of the sadness of his destiny: a wanderer who, after a far too long war, searches the way too long for home.

"The life of so many is in him and that makes him very recognizable."

The ninth vocal from Homeros ’classic was part of the full, three-day theater marathon‘ Odysseus. A wanderer comes home "that premiered on February 2, 2017 at KVS Brussels.
