Parade

In these weird, greedy, evil, selfish times. Imagine this. We have a procession of vulnerable people. One by one, they offer the world a gift. Something they are convinced will make the world a better place. Maybe it's a song. Maybe a story. Maybe an object they received from their father. Or something they brought back from their homeland. Doesn't matter what. But it is precious, very precious. And yet they want to part with it, they want to give it as a gift. Maybe they know to whom they want to give it. To the one person they are grateful to. The one person they only saw once, but who left an unforgettable impression. That one bastard who has scarred them for life. The child they lost. That one loved one to whom they can  only on with that gift can say how much they love them. Or maybe they want to give it to the world. To the world of tomorrow. A parade of people with gifts. A stage full of gifts. By which the world maybe - but maybe not - 1 millimeter Shifts and becomes 1 millimeter more beautiful.
