EVERYONE HAS FAMILY. A BIG FAMILY OR A SMALL FAMILY, A FAMILY LIKE A WARM NEST OR AN ABSENT FAMILY, A FAMILY THAT LIKES TO CYCLE OR A FAMILY THAT PREFERS TO DO NOTHING, A FAMILY THAT SHOUTS LOUDLY OR....SO FAMILY.
IN 'WOLKENDROOM', EVERYONE'S FAMILY TAKES THE CENTRE STAGE AND ALLOWS THE ACTORS TO DRAW LINES FROM HOW THEY STAND IN LIFE NOW, TO A GOAL THEY WANT TO REACH AND WHAT ROLE FAMILY HAS IN IT....FROM A CHILDHOOD WISH TO A FAMILY PARTY TO GOING ON HOLIDAY TOGETHER.
THEATER TARTAAR plays a unique role in Brussels and the Brussels periphery/West Brabant, as the only social-artistic theatre company operating in this region. THEATER TARTAAR uses the arts as a motor for encounter and integration with a special focus on socially vulnerable people. With 'WOLKENDROOM', we create a high-quality final product together with HETGEVOLG, which is an example in Flanders of an inclusion project that is strongly committed to the quality of the final product.
We always start from the belief that art is the most ultimate form of inclusivity. Giving socially vulnerable target groups a voice, co-authoring a work of art generates not only satisfaction but also appreciation, giving them self-esteem and a positive self-image are the foundations from which people draw enough strength to step into society.
The concept is simple: the person is central. Not age, not disability, not failure. In fact: the age, the limitation, the failure are just the strength to create a new dynamic. STEFAN PERCEVAL
