The New Man

After The Godfather, The Terminator and The Dark Knight, there is finally the sequel to De man die zijn haar kort liet knippen (The Man Who Had His Hair Cut Short)! In the original show, inspired by the book by Johan Daisne, a man and a woman meet in a restaurant. It is 2004: Harvey Weinstein is still a successful producer, the term mansplaining does not yet exist, coughing in public is still harmless. The man is a writer, the woman an actress. Once they were in love, but the fear of ruining everything got in the way of their love.

Almost two decades later, they meet again, in a world where nothing is untouchable. Old certainties teeter on brittle foundations. Will they themselves falter? Will their memories be cherished, or mercilessly revised? Is the time ripe for real dialogue? It's not just the characters that confront: the actors of the KOE examine the memory of their company, engage in conversation with their past and their own repertoire. As with the revival of The Biologized, the reworking of The Nile Has Arrived in Cairo, and the anniversary book KOE DOES BOOK. The repertoire will not be a reprint, but a start, a possibility.
