This is the story about an island in the sea. Everyone moved away from here. Or at least, all those who were still young and vigorous enough to cross over. The crossing over to there, to later and better. Every time a new ship full of young people sets sail, we here hold our breaths. Hours, days, weeks, sometimes a small eternity. Only when the news comes, news of there, later and better, only then do we let a sigh escape from between our teeth. One long sigh after which our lungs can fill again with salty sea air. Because one day, we too will leave here. Then the party will start and music will sound everywhere! But each time our salty hearts weather a little more. In and out, in and out; there in the sea hole the ships, and we here our breath. But sometimes no news comes. Then silence reigns and the waiting starts. Our tears flow only later, when all hope has dried up. Salty tears, for sorrow does not taste sweet. And so the waters of all seas rise more and more. Salty seas full of sorrow. Until all there is, àll there is ... is water. This was the story about an island in the sea. After the highly successful MENEER LINH, Theater Tieret presents itself for a second time to a 12+ audience. Together with the promising, internationally acclaimed Desguin string quartet, ZEEFIER is a poetic performance about attraction and rejection, about longing and missing, about saying goodbye and coming home again. A story that in all its simplicity is painfully close to the current reality of ecological transition, migration and globalization.
